Concept:
This
installation spins around in an eternal
sequence; an endless action in the
outline of a person: a "sign"
(extracted from a bathroom sign) which
activates a "Mental Extract"
located over his head, again and again.
The purpose is to appeal to one of
modern man's desires; his desire to
seek solutions to his most intimate
worries, through artifacts and impossible
gadgets.
The "sign" graphically demostrates
the daily action of the cleansing
of the brain, like brushing your teeth,
taking a shower, eating, defecating,
etc. This brain cleansing unit, which
removes all internal pain and trauma,
is the missing fixture of the ideal
bathroom: for both biological and
mental cleaning.
This
installation includes a simulated
animation: there are two groups
of four acryllic signs, which are
connected and illuminated in sequence.
Each group of signs is located on
two facing walls. The cleansing
of the brain is shown with the lights
flashing in sequence, from slow
to fast and in rhythm, with a percussion
sound at a medium volume. This demonstrates
the idea of a closed circle or eternal
beginn ing.parWhen the fourth circle
of lights is complete, the percusssion
sound increases. Then, the principal
installation, which is a cylinder
with a black brain (dirty brain)
inside of it and is located on the
floor, illuminates. This indicates
that the cleaning process is complete.
This
action repeats over and over.....
